EUROPACK JUNIOR OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT 2014 ORGANIZED BY TERRIAN CHESS ACADEMY, NAIROBI CATEGORIES: UNDER 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 for BOYS & GIRLS DATE : SATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER VENUE : BRIGHTON ACADEMY – KINDERGARTEN, MUTHANGARI ROAD LAVINGTON, NAIROBI ENTRY FORM Entry Fees Kshs. 500/- Rules and Regulations: 1. The tournament will be run with the Swiss System of pairing in 5 rounds 2. Play will start at 9:15AM.Time Control: 45 minutes per player 3. No consultations or analysis of unfinished games will be accepted 4. If a player withdraws from the tournament before its conclusion, his score at the stage will stand 5. Games will be governed by the laws of chess compiled by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) as adopted in August 1955 and since amended and additions adopted by FIDE. 6. Where practicable, both players shall give the Tournament Desk a signed, correct and legible record of their game immediately on its completion. 7. No player shall be allowed to waive any exaction of a penalty or the enforcement of the rules under which the tournament is conducted, and he or she shall at all times play to the best of his or her ability. 8. The Tournament Organizing Committee is responsible for the running of the event and the appeals & arbitration panel will rule on all disputes, communicating with the Tournament Director whose decision will be final. 9. Registration deadline: 12 noon Friday 14th November (Mpesa line: 0728149290). Players who have trainers are requested to register through their respective trainer’s. Late registration will be allowed from 8.30am up to 9.30am on Saturday 15th November at the venue at KShs.700 per player but these players will be paired to play from round 2. 10. Prizes (trophies) will be awarded to the top 3 players in each category. Certificates of Merit/Participation will be given to all the participants.
