EUROPEAN UNION Delegation of the European Union to Papua New Guinea Vacancy for the post of Trade Affairs Officer in Operations Section II Economics, Trade and Governance Vacancy Notice The Delegation of the European Union to Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby is seeking to recruit a local agent to fill the post of ‘Trade Affairs Officer’ in the Section responsible for Economics, Trade and Governance matters. We are looking for candidates who completed university studies of at least four years attested by a master diploma in trade, economics, or international relations (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, in particular with experience in external relations and in the area of trade policy. Knowledge of and experience in programme/project management of donor-funded programmes/projects, including European Union’s procedures for the management of its external aid, are highly recommended. Knowledge of the institutional and administrative set-up of the government, of relevant ministries as well as of private sector organizations is an asset. Excellent drafting and oral communication skills, organisational skills and computer literacy are essential requirements. The candidate will be expected to work to a high level of competency and reliability, and be able to work independently using his/her own initiative. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
