EUROPEAN UNION TO DISCUSS ORGANIC FARMING Among the topics on the agenda for discussion by the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Committee at a meeting in Brussels on 14 July will be a policy debate on organic farming. Ministers will also have the opportunity to take part in a first detailed discussion of the Commission’s proposals for changes to EU organic rules in public session. According to the Commission, the EU organic market has quadrupled in size over the last 10 years and rules need to be adjusted so that the sector can further develop and respond to future challenges.
