EVENING COASTAL FORECASTS Issued at 3:30pm Tuesday 30th, July 2013 valid until midnight on Friday. SITUATION: A ridge of high pressure to the south directs a moist and fresh east to northeast wind and high swells over Samoa coastal waters. ""Advisory for paopao and Alia fishing boats remains in effect for all Samoa coastal waters due to high swells and fresh east to northeast winds."" NORTHERN COASTAL WATERS: Tonight & Tomorrow: East to northeast winds of 10-20 mph with a few gusty periods. Waves of 4-5 feet with easterly swells of 6-8 feet. Thursday & Friday: East to southeast winds of 10-20 mph. Poor visibility in showers with thunderstorms. Waves of 3-5 feet with easterly swells of 4-6 feet. SOUTHERN COASTAL WATERS: Tonight & Tomorrow: Easterly winds of 10-20 mph with a few gusty periods. Poor visibility in showers. Waves of 4-6 feet with southeast swells of 7-9 feet. Thursday & Friday: East to southeast winds of 10-20 mph with gusty periods. Poor visibility in showers with thunderstorms. Waves of 4-6 feet with southeast swells of 5-7 feet.
