He also inaugurated the Puarana Kadal motorable bridge connecting Marwah to other areas of the district. The construction of this road had been a long pending demand of the people of the area. Speaking to on the occasion, Kichloo said that the Government is spending Rs. 220 crore on Kishtwar-Marwah Road to provide all-weather connectivity. The Minister stated that presently it will be a fair-weather road and the Government is considering making it a full-weather road by exploring the possibility of constructing Nawapachi-Chingam and Inshan-Matigawran tunnels. Marwah and Warwan remain snow-bound and cut off for seven months in winter. OBAMA-MODI The Prime Minister has arrived in Frankfurt en route to New Delhi following his successful whirlwind five-day trip to the United States. Mr Naredra Modi will reach New Delhi later this evening. Before leaving USA, the Prime Minister said, Thank You America for what he described as a highly successful and satisfactory visit. In a meeting between Prime Minister Naredra Modi and US President Barack Obama at the White House yesterday, India and the United States vowed to push their strategic bilateral relationship to new levels. The two countries also agreed to resolve issues related to civil nuclear deal, cooperate in counter terrorism and work together in third countries like Afghanistan. The two leaders issued a joint statement which stated that India and US have agreed to a new enhanced strategic partnership on energy, security, clean energy and climate change. Meanwhile, BJP today termed the Prime Minister Narendra Modis US visit as historic and successful. On the other hand, Congress has termed Prime Ministers visit to the US as disappointing. SWACHT BHARAT The ambitious Swachh Bharat campaign will be launched tomorrow i.e. on 2nd of October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign is aimed at cleaning India by 2019, when the country will celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick start the campaign from New Delhi. The ambitious drive includes sweeping, removal of garbage, debris and unauthorized encroachments from the roads, markets and residential places. Giving a clarion call for launching of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day speech, asked people to take a pledge to make India clean. Under the campaign, Government will try to make India free from open defecation in the next five years. Ahead of the launch of the campaign, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the people to devote themselves to make it a mass movement. Document-camps The Government has decided to organize mobile camps in the affected areas for facilitating issuance of duplicate PRC, Ration Cards, Power/LPG connection, Voter Identity Cards, death certificates, driving licenses, registration and qualification certificates to those whose documents/certificates have been damaged in the recent floods. Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to facilitate issuance of duplicate certificates/documents after proper verification/authentication and submit progress report on this account on weekly basis to the General Administration Department. MODI-RADIO Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold first radio programme on Friday, 3rd October in which he will share his thoughts with the countrymen through the radio. The radio program will be held at 11 A.M. A statement issued by the Prime Ministers Office said that Mr Modi is expected to share his thoughts on a variety of issues. A separate Open Forum has been created on MyGov for citizens to share their comments for the programme. Citizens can share ideas and best practices on development, good governance and other issues. Earlier, on 6th of last month, the Prime Minister talked about connecting with people through radio and sought ideas. Since then there has been an extremely positive feedback on the idea of having a radio programme. US-BAN The US has slapped sanctions on a leader and two financial supporters of terrorist groups based in Pakistan. The Department of Treasury branded Fazl-ur Rehman Khalil, the leader of Harakat ul-Mujahidin, HuM, and Muhammad Naeem Sheikh and Umair Naeem Sheikh. They are alleged financial supporters of Lashkar-e Taiba, LeT. Abdul Hameed Shahab-Ud-Din and Nia International, two businesses based in the Pakistani city of Lahore and owned respectively by the two Sheikhs, were also blacklisted. LeT is said to be behind the the November 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai that killed nearly 200 people and injured more than 300 others. PANTHERS PARTY J&K National Panthers Party constituted relief and rehabilitation committees for the flood victims in the Districts of Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar. Chief Patron of the party Prof. Bhim Singh, who visited Ramban, Doda and Udhampur Districts today held several meetings with the District leaders and Panthers Party activists directing them to carry the mission relief and rehabilitation for all who have suffered heavily by the devastation of floods in these areas. CAPD-CHECKING Special squad of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Kathua, inspected various establishments of Kathua town, Kalibari, Lakhanpur area, Barnoti and highway. According to our Kathua correspondent Pardeep Sharma about 47 commercial establishments were inspected out of which seventeen booked under various act and Rs. 33800 fine was recovered from the defaulters. SAMBA-RALLY A rally was organized by Government Boys Higher Secondary School Samba to create awareness among the masses regarding “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” . Decision on diesel price cut will be taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modis return from the United States. According to Indian Oil Corporation, the reduction in prices was due to the declining trend in the international petrol prices. ARMY-WATER Army distributed water tanks to the Government Primary School, Rihani, Patlyadi, Targa, Bhambarwar, Govt Middle School, Payan and Govt Middle School, Gurha Talab for providing portable drinking water in schools of these remote villages of Akhnoor Tehsil today. SMVDSB-HOSPITAL Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) yesterday executed a Concession Agreement with Bangalore based well known Health Care Service Provider in the Country for operation of a multi-specialty hospital at Kakryal-Katra. Expressing immense pleasure over the conclusion of the agreement, the Governor N N Vohra observed that the successful functioning of this Super-Specialty hospital would enable the Board to make a major contribution towards the provision of quality medical care for people of the state. Dr. Bhandari, CEO of the Shrine Board, explained that all necessary steps for operationalizing the hospital are nearing completion and it is planned to be commissioned in October, 2015, during the Navratra period.
