EVENTS THIS WEEK include: Tuesday, Oct. 14: United Methodist Womens Activities: 1-2 p.m., Deborah Circle, pack Poe food bags; 1-2 p.m., Martha Circle, pack UMCOR health kits; 7-8 p.m., Deborah Circle, pack Poe food bags. Wednesday, Oct. 15, United Methodist Womens Activities: 1-3 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. (Heritage Drive Campus) Mary, Martha and Martha Circles, paint kitchen, organize clothes closet, make sandwiches or pack hygiene kits. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Heritage Drive Tutoring. To volunteer as a tutor, receptionist, or helper, contact Jerry Beyer at beyerga@gmail or 703-399-1395. Thursday, Oct. 16, United Methodist Womens Activities: 12-12, Lydia Circle, make baskets for Bethany House; 5-7 p.m., Heritage Drive, all circles, food distribution, homework help. Thursday, Oct. 16, 5 - 7 p.m.: food distribution volunteers needed, Heritage Drive campus, 7901 Heritage Dr. Contact Betsy Clevenger, 703-425-6424, to volunteer. Friday, Oct. 17: Candy Due Date. Youth ministries will be handing out candy at the Annandale Parade (Oct. 25) and donations of candy are welcome! Bring individually-wrapped candies (no peanuts, no peanut butter) to a box in the Atrium or the church office by Oct. 17. Saturday, Oct. 18, United Methodist Womens Fall Event, 10 a.m. - noon, Wright Hall. Everyone is invited! A light brunch will be served. Saturday, Oct. 18, 12 p.m.: CROP Hunger Walk at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield. Be a walker/fundraiser or sponsor and help ACCA and Global Hunger Relief. Sunday, Oct. 19, 3:30 p.m., Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestra concert. Sunday, Oct. 19, 7 p.m.: The Annandale Book Lovers will be meeting in the parlor. We will be discussing The Island of Dr. Moreau by H. G. Wells. The book lovers meet on the third Sunday. Our November book will be Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
