EVENTS THIS WEEK include: Wednesday, Dec. 10, 5:45 p.m.: Wednesday Night Together Dinner; 6:30 p.m. Advent Worship/Communion. Dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. The menu Dec 10 will be: tossed salad, bean and ham soup, crescent rolls, harvest dump cake. The meal price (pay at the door) is $8 per person, $3 for children under 9, and $25 per family maximum. Dinner reservations for Dec. 10 are due by noon on Monday, Dec. 8. Saturday, Dec. 13, 9 - 11:30 a.m.: Rehearsal for Christmas Pageant Saturday, Dec. 13, 12 - 2 p.m.: St. Nick’s Workshop. Enjoy a light lunch, craft activities, and learn about the real Saint Nicholas. Children visit the Secret Santa Shop to purchase $1 - $5 gifts for the family. Sunday, Dec. 14 8:30 and 11 a.m.: Third Sunday of Advent: Children’s Christmas Pageant. The AUMC children present a Christmas Pageant retelling the story of Jesus’ birth complete with Mary and Joseph, angels, shepherds, animals, and more. This service includes carols, dramatic sets, and special costumes that make the wonder and joy of the season come alive. Sermon topic: Love All. Sunday, Dec. 14, 9:50 a.m.: Final Seminar/Kaleidoscope: In Room 310, Dr. Jack Underhill will do a retrospective and a few highlights of topics covered during the last 10 years of the Seminar. Sunday, Dec. 14, 6:30 p.m.: An Evening in December - Christmas Recital. Come and receive this special present from our Music Ministry. The sanctuary will be filled with the sounds of the season as members of our congregation bring their gifts of instrumental and vocal music. Sunday, Dec. 14: Deadline for Haiti Mission Trip donations. The following items are needed: two tarps (12’ x 16’), eight regulation-size soccer balls, one air pump, eight Chinese jump ropes, eight jump ropes 14’ or 16’ long (jump ropes available at Amazon), two 20-foot parachutes (available at discountschoolsupply, eight plastic beach balls to use with parachutes, stickers (anything child oriented), clothes pins, 350 Crayola fine-tip markers and 350 boxes of 8-count Crayola crayons (this box size and brand only). Place donations in the marked boxes in the Atrium by Sunday, Dec. 14. Cash donations would be appreciated to help purchase a snack and juice box for each child attending VBS.
