EVERY ACTIONS ARE SEEDS AWAITING BOUNTIFUL HARVEST-- Do you know that the law and principle of sowing and reaping not only apply to farmers but to us as well? Are you aware that we like the farmers sow seeds and that one day we too will reap the harvest we sow? One thing we should understand is that each one of us is a sower. We sow seeds everyday either in our own lives or in the lives of others. We sow seeds physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. Every seed that we sow brings its own harvest either for good or for bad. Every seed that we sow will fall into the soil of someone’s heart. It will take root, grow and bring to fruition what was planted by us, the sower. That is why we must be conscious of what we are saying and doing to others. You see, if we are knowledgeable and conscious of that fact, and that many of our blessings and our cursings come from the seeds that we have sown, we would be careful of the seeds we sow on a daily basis. Any farmer or gardener knows the truthfulness of the words: “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The Bible too made it abundantly clear in Galatians 6:7 “Be not be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The fact is, whatever you wish to harvest you need to sow. If you want corn you must sow corn seeds. You cannot sow tomato seeds and get corn. It does not work that way. That’s the law and principle of sowing and reaping. Seedtime and harvest, that is “sowing and reaping”, will be as unchangeable and predictable as day and night. It will not change. Therefore there are somethings we need to bear in mind when sowing seeds: 1) We should be careful what we plant because we will always receive more than what we plant. 2) Some seeds take long to sprout and some plants take a long time to bear fruits. Once we know that, it is imperative that we make sure that the seeds we sow are the ones we want sprouting up and growing. At times it may seem or appear like nothing is happening with our seeds because we see nothing taking place for a while, or even a long time, but don’t be fooled everything takes time. Everything happens in its own time – No one gets away with anything! Have you ever taken time out to really study how small some seeds are? Is it not amazing how huge trees grow out of tiny seeds and how strong and powerful some of their roots are? This principle runs throughout all of life. We can never completely get away from the seeds we sow. What kinds of seeds have you been planting or sowing on a daily basis? Are they good seeds or bad seeds? Think for a moment of your thoughts, actions and decisions which you make day after day. You see every thought, every action and every decision is a seed. So be careful what you plant now. It will determine what you will reap tomorrow. The seeds you now scatter, will make life better or worse for you or those who will come after. Someday, you will enjoy the fruits, or you will pay for the choices you plant today. What a powerful lesson that is! When was the last time you thought of your actions as being part of a sequence of events, instead of simply being the events themselves? In other words, how often do you really stop and think about the domino or ripple effect that your actions are going to have in the future? Cursings and blessings are tied up in what we sow on a daily basis in our lives. It goes on even unto our first or fourth generations. What do you want to follow your life or your children children’s lives? That is something we need to stop and think about. It is wise to remember and bear in mind at all times that what you plant now will determine what you will reap later. Whatever you give to life, life gives you back. This is good news if you are planting good seeds and bad news if you are planting bad seeds. As a song writer aptly puts it: There is coming a day when a reaping will be, And all men everywhere will have to share; What they’ve sown long ago will surely sprout and grow, And some day in the future will bring joy or bring woe. So be careful, dear ones, what kind of seeds you sow, Lest some day there will be sad regrets and misery; Be careful, I say, what kind of seed you sow today, Lest some day you will weep when you reap what you sow. Many thorns here are sown that will prick tender hearts, But, be sure, there’s a reaping day to come; Bitter reaping ’twill be and like an adder sting— Oh, dear souls, take this warning for we’ll reap what we sow. When you think to do wrong, know that God on His throne Sees and hears everything you do or say; Not one thing can go by from His all-seeing eye, God knows all, and remember, we will reap what we sow. We will reap seeds we’ve sown, they’ll bring tears or bring joy, Have you brought grief to some kind, loving heart? Or have you sown some love, and pointed souls above? God sees all, and remember, we will reap what we sow- Galatians 6:7-9
