EVERYONE CAN BE A PARENT BUT ITS AN EXTRA-ORDINARY ACT TO HAVE QUALITIES OF PARENTHOOD THAT GOES BEYOND YOUR OWN FAMILY! AND MOREOVER IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR OWN CHILDREN! Parenting Parenting Parenting Once upon a time, I came upon a story! Aaah! Well, it was only a few weeks ago! I guess this story will stay with me forever and if I go to Heaven, and this lady goes too, I will ask God to show her to me and I will give a passionate Angelic kiss....if ever there is such! Uganda! Yes in Uganda! During the barbaric genocide acts, this 10 year old is being dragged by her granny as they are running away from the crowds that was either the Hutis killing the Tutsis and vis-versa! This girl hears the cries of a toddler and she decides instantly to let go her elders to go and inspect what was happening and to her horror she finds a baby crying while suckling the breast of its dead mother!!! Its said she didnt hasitate to snatch the toddler and rejoin her elders! She has bluntly refused to be separated from the now 17 year old, if am not mistaken, up to today! She is now married herself and has her own kids, and stil stays with her 1st born teenager whom she is only 10 years than her! Maverlous isnt it! Its all about choice good people! Parenting has to be a duty of everyone if we are to be a peaceful and a developed community! You dont have to be like this girl. No. Helping a child to cross a street is parenting. Stopping a child to ask why he/she is crying is part of parenting! If time is permmiting and your neighbour asks you to look after their kids while they are going on a good cause is part of parenting! You dont have to have your own kid(s) to do look after kids! No! Every child is your child, never mind the age difference. That child you see on the streets late in the night, until you know that their biological parents are the ones that let them go and do as they please, make sure you have asked them at least once as to why they roamer around the streets durind the late hours of the night! Someone decides to kill a new born baby! You can feed a child with a fraction of your breakfast! Last month in Zimbabwe a 17 year old boy ripped a 4 year old girls private part so he can be able to rape her. You can help that orphan by giving them a blanket to put over at night. Only last week in South Africa a 4 year old was killed in a hijacking scene. You can make a difference by showing a child that you care in any way! This society has more than enough parents but it lacks PARENTS (PARENTING) Think of it, you dont get all the neccesary help you for bussiness from your family and yet you are a grown up, what then makes you think its the duty of your neighbour, and them alone, to raise their children???! Mother Terresa summed it all up: If you cant help then dont hurt them!!! Lets help each other raise a child!!! God bless you all
