What a wonderful afternoon it was. Were proud to stand with such terrific activists who do this so well and so tirelessly. It was very gratifying also to be joined by activists from GERMANY and ITALY, and to talk at length with tourists who were visiting NYC from Georgia and San Diego--and who wanted more information about how to support and advocate for a ban on carriages in NYC. The two young women from Georgia also told us that they witnessed a near-miss this week in Times Square, where a horse was frightened and nearly spooked by a jackhammer noise nearby. The carriage driver was out of the box (the carriage driver seat), a very dangerous position to be in whenever a horse spooks and bolts. Tragedy was averted--this time. What about the next?
