EVERYTHING IN TODAYs POST ARE THINGS IVE SEEN WITH MY OWN EYES AND ARE BASED ON FACT... SO IF YOU ARE SOMEWHAT OFFENDED, PLEASE DONT BE... THIS HAS BEEN SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN NAGGING AT ME FOR SOME TIME AND THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN EDUCATE YOURSELF IS TO ASK QUESTIONS... IM EDUCATING MYSELF: In my pre college years, I seldom asked questions... But when I went to college and was told that I would be the one repaying my loans whether I learned something or not, thats when I took my education more seriously!!! I dont claim to be a know-it-all... Most of the stuff that I post is either stuff that I have experience with OR stuff Ive seen other people do... Today I dont know... Thats where I need YOUR help!!! Whats been nagging me is WHY IS THAT PEOPLE FROM NEW ORLEANS DONT LIKE PEOPLE FROM NORTH LOUISIANA AND VICE VERSA??? AND WHERE DID IT ORIGINALLY COME FROM??? While going to school on The Yard, I noticed that the moment you told someone from New Orleans that you were from Shreveport or any areas with the same area code, it would usually be this tension between the two!!! The reason why I said vice versa earlier is because growing up in North Louisiana, it was kind of like you were TRAINED to not want to visit New Orleans or the surrounding area!!! I remember hearing conversations like, You dont want to go to New Orleans because they do all that witchcraft down there!!! Once I grew up and went to see South Louisiana for myself, I did see this tension for myself... But all my years of living in South Louisiana, I NEVER SAW ANY WITCHCRAFT!!! I still have friends both in North and South Louisiana that I talk to on a regular basis!!! I am proud to be from North Louisiana but Ive learned that the TRUE culture of Louisiana lies in South Louisiana!!! My question to the people of Facebook, where do you think this tension originally came from??? Do you think it came from the annual Bayou Classic or some time way before this??? Or do you think it is based on IGNORANCE on both parts... WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND/OR THOUGHTS??? ~~Reggie Regg
