Martinus was once asked how he could be sure that what he had written was true. His answer was: “It is true because all my analyses ultimately demonstrate love”. “All my analyses show that everything is very good”. Martinus also said: “All my analyses work out in eternity. Love and Christianity become science when we can see that everything works out in eternity”! In his lectures, Martinus presented several variants of his “proof based on love”. He said that he could be completely sure of having written the truth because all his analyses accord at all points with the fact of universal love and that we should love our neighbours as ourselves. Is there any higher explanation of life than that everything is an expression of love? Universal love is the highest science. Universal love is the fundamental tone of the universe. Martinus wrote an entire chapter entitled “A guarantee of the identity of my cosmic analyses with the eternal truth”, that deals with this proof based on love (Article Collection 1, §8.25). He writes there that his work of enlightenment could only have been created by virtue of his cosmic consciousness, and it can be recognised by the fact that his analyses conclude without exception that we should be kind and loving to our neighbours. Everything that he wrote is a single compelling reason for observing the great commandment to “love one another”. It is a logical exposition of immortality and that “what a man sows, he shall reap”. Everything shows itself in its final conclusion to be for the benefit, joy and blessing of all living beings. § 25.11 When is the truth revealed? We can see how world-views have replaced one another throughout history, and this has led to the impression that all truth is relative, and that there is no absolute truth. But history shows that the primitive world-views of earlier times are continuously replaced by more evolved and scientific versions. So how long can this gradual disclosure of the truth continue? Martinus answers: “Until there are no longer any veils surrounding the truth”. And we may again ask: when will that be the case? To which his answer is: “When the individual has evolved to the point of experiencing as a real fact, with his own senses, that everything is very good. The disclosure of the eternal truth is then complete because this experience depends absolutely on an identity with the basic scientific analysis of this truth” (LB1 §28). Anyone who believes that something is evil has fallen prey to an ancient superstition. What is known as evil is just as indispensable as the so-called good for the experience of life and the formation of consciousness. But this still does not prevent some experiences from being highly unpleasant. Good and evil then become two sides of the same coin, which Martinus so ingeniously calls the pleasant good and the unpleasant good. Here, as in the expression “everything is very good”, the word good expresses the eternal side of the analysis, whereas the words pleasant and unpleasant express the created or temporal analysis of the experience. But the existence of contrasts is indispensable to living beings, because without contrasts there can be no experience of life and thus no life and no living beings either. So the existence of contrasts is a good thing for life and for living beings. The analysis that “everything is very good” is not temporal, but absolute or eternal. § 25.12 What is the goal of evolution? Human beings will evolve to becoming a hundred percent humane and loving. A perfect balance between developed feeling and developed intelligence will gradually allow them to access the thought-climate of wisdom based on the energy of intuition. To live in agreement with the law of life or love, to be of benefit, joy and blessing to all living beings, gives the most positive thoughts. A thought-climate borne by love and wisdom gives human beings the highest magnetism and life force that exists. This thinking is based on the very highest cosmic science, wisdom and love, and confirms the old saying of a healthy mind in a healthy body (see Bisættelse, Chapter 47). The cosmic analyses can help human beings to understand life and its laws, and lead to an optimistic view of life. We can learn to see that in the last analysis all unpleasant things are an unpleasant good and thus an expression of love. When we feel happiness, joy and gratitude for life and can see that everything in life is very good, we have the right attitude to life. When we can see and experience that everything is very good in all life’s situations, the thoughts vibrating in our consciousness generate the highest love of life and life force in existence. Martinus assures us that our evolution will be complete and we will have become moral geniuses when we have reached the stage of personally experiencing and realising the analysis that “everything is very good”. We have then reached the fundamental analysis of life and the eternal truth.
