EVS vacancy for a volunteer for already approved project at Caritas Sofia, Bulgaria! We are planning to start on 15.09.2014. Its for people from EU. Caritas Sofia is looking for one EVS volunteer for already approved project. The prokect is implemented at the Refugee camps in Sofia and some of the other centers according to the interests of the volunteer. Main activities: Work in art workshops(making souvenirs and products from different materials); helping with the English lessons; Supporting the people at the center communicating, encouraging and motivating them in their efforts to be independent and to develop.; Organizing their own activity within the work context of the centers; The volunteer will have the opportunity to meet and participate in other activities together with the rest of the volunteers at Caritas Sofia. Thus, the volunteer will be able to help more people and see social work from different angles; Informational events- where the volunteers could explain more about their countries (traditions, culture, language, etc.)and also EVS info meetings; Activities with children from the minorities (where Caritas implements this kind of projects). Around 50% of the time the volunteer will be involved in the implementation of art workshops and English lessons with the refugee children. The rest of the time the volunteer will help in the Center for single mothers, Center for children with disabilities or Sofia prison where we have English lessons for the prisoners. The volunteer should to be between 20 and 29 years old, know English at an intermediate level in order to be able to communicate with the staff at Caritas Sofia. Previous voluntary experience and curiosity towards new places and cultures are a plus. The volunteer will be able to socialize with Caritas volunteers who work on various other projects.
