EX-NBA PLAYER OLUMIDE OYEDEJI HAILS OYO STATE COMMISSIONER FOR INDUSTRY, APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR HIS TRANSFORMATION OF THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DURING HIS TENURE Ex-NBA player Olumide Oyedeji and current captain of the Nigerian National Basketball Team has commended Mr. Dapo Lam-Adesina for his immense contribution to sports and track record during his days as Youth and Sports Commissioner. Mr. Oyedeji gave the commendation during his visit with fellow ex-students of Loyola College Ibadan. He spoke about the progress witnessed in the Sports sector of the State when Mr Adesina was at the helms of affairs and also the total transformation of Basketball. While also being confident that Mr. Adesina would extend his exploits to his present Ministry In his remark, the Commissioner thanked Mr.Oyedeji for being a worthy ambassador of the State and praised him on his efforts at encouraging Youth to excel in Sports especially Basketball. He further thanked the Ex-NBA Star for giving back to the society through his Basketball Youth Foundation which was established as a Nonprofit /Charity Corporation in Nigeria and other countries. It would be recalled that the Oyo State basketball team broke a 19year old jinx by qualifying to participate during the last National Sports festival and Won Silver while the team also broke a 13year old jinx by qualifying to compete in the DSTV Nigeria basketball premier league during Mr Dapo Lam Adesinas tenure. Mr.Oyedeji however promised to organize a New Basketball competition in memory of the Commissioner’s late father who was a role model to him and also an alumnus of Loyola College Ibadan. In attendance at the brief ceremony were the Commissioner for Information, Prince Gbade Lana; Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Mr. Gbolagade Busari; Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Mr. Tunde Busari, other top government officials and ex-students of Loyola College Ibadan.
