EXCITING NEWS! We want our supporters to be the first to know! We are very excited to be getting our new ARATT Woof Wagon, thanks to the donations by caring supporters to our Double Dollars fundraiser and to a very generous donation by a special benefactor! As you know, for more than three years, ARATT has used Board members’ personal vehicles, borrowed vehicles, and rented vehicles to transport hundreds of dogs and cats from our local shelter and hoarding situations to safety -- to vet offices, to kennels, and to out-of-state rescues. This was difficult and complicated at best and, uh, crappy at worst. During one such transport, a dog pooped in one of our Board member’s personal vehicle heat duct. She says that every time the air, and even worse, the heat, came on in the car, she remembered that pup. But, she saved him, and that’s what mattered. Our new (previously-owned) Dodge Caravan will allow us to more safely and quickly transport animals locally and for longer distances, if necessary. But we cannot hit the road without insurance. We need to be well covered, and that will cost us $668 a year. We need your help to raise that money so we can start giving dogs and cats their freedom ride immediately. If we are lucky enough to have donations more than the $668 goal for the insurance, we will put your donation to good use for things like: • Gasoline cards • Compensation for the driver • Hotel room and food for overnight transports • Calcium bones for the dogs in transport • Leashes, collars and harnesses • ID tags for the dogs • Professional emergency first aid kit • Signage for the van Want to help give dogs and cats their freedom ride to the rest of their life?
