EXCLUSIVE: Belgore Storms Ilorin on Sunday, asked to be Welcome with an Umbrella! --------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Mohammed Dele Belgore, the embattled chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is billed to storm Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Sunday, ostensibly to declare his next political move, e-Kwara can authoritatively report. Mr. Belgore is expected to arrive in Ilorin from Lagos at about 10 in the morning. From the airport, he will head straight to the Party’s state secretariat along Asa Dam, Ilorin, where he is expected to address tens of thousands of his party supporters on his next line of move. A highly placed source, who is presently with Mr. Belgore in Lagos revealed to e-Kwara that the senior lawyer had asked to be welcome with an umbrella at the airport. This assertion, if true is pregnant with meaning, as Mr. Belgore may be on his way to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has a red and green colour as its official insigna. Several other sources in Ilorin also informed e-kwara that arrangements are in top gear to mobilize his obviously disillusioned supporters from the sixteen local councils that make up the state to the venue of his declaration. Mr. Belgore has been having a running battle with the national leadership of his party, the APC, over the handling over of the party’s structure to Dr. Bukola Saraki, a new entrant who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently. Belgore, like his embattled colleagues in Kano, Sokoto and Adamawa states (Ibrahim Sheikarau, Attahiru Bafarawa and Buba Marwa respectively) protested unsuccessfully to the party’s national leadership over the vexed issue of party leadership in their respective states. However, whereas his other co-travelers have taken a definite decision on their political careers, with two of them, Sheikarau and Bafarawa speaking with their legs, Mr. Belgore is still reportedly consulting on his next line of move. Several regular feelers have it that Mr. Belgore may declare for the PDP tomorrow. But E-Kwara could not independently verify this claim as the mobile number of Mr. Belgore’s media aide, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaiye, was not going through till the time of filling this report.
