EXCLUSIVE REPORTING: In what appears to be an attempt to mask the actual death toll from yesterday’s massacre, Egyptian authorities have begun refuse release of protester remains to the victims relatives unless a fraudulent death certificate is signed by the family of the victim. Sources within Egypt are reporting that as many as 200 corpses were forcibly taken from the besieged Masjid Iman mosque and withheld until families signed falsified death certificates claiming the cause of the death as either suicide or “natural causes.” Described as an “abomination” and “atrocity” by fellow Muslims, graphic images of charred bodies being disposed of as trash have begun to circulate across Twitter. Among the deceased whose bodies are being withheld are Amir Bedier who was killed in Rabaa. Like Bedier, many of the victims of yesterday’s massacre were under 40 years old. When asked about the events, several Egyptians who witnessed the killings yesterday have sharply criticized the international media presence in Cairo, accusing them of biased pro-government reporting while unprofessionally neglecting coverage of the Egyptian people. Additional Egyptian criticism has also been levelled at the Obama administration for his lack of meaningful decisions on the ongoing crisis. His relative inaction, say some Egyptians, only encourages further violence and bloodshed.
