EXERCISE OF THE WEEK!!! This week’s exercise is a spiky ball release for the chest and anterior shoulder. With all spiky ball releases its important to avoid bone or joint structures and remember that only discomfort should be felt, not pain or tingling. By working along the collarbone towards the shoulder and as you get towards the end of the collar bone you will find a crevice at the outer aspect of the chest musculature. Place the spiky ball into the crevice and lying face down use your body weight apply pressure to ball. For extra intensity you may choose to lift the opposite side of your body to increase the pressure through the ball. Hold for 30-120s before switching sides. Remember to always consult your Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist in determining whether this exercise is right for you.
