EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS ‘Everyone has not only the freedom and the right but the obligation to say what he thinks for the common good ... we have the right to have this freedom openly without offending.’ Pope Francis. In that case, for the common good it would be a great benefit if reason replaced the irrational belief (blind faith) that a creator god exists! ‘Lets consider our own history. How many wars of religion have we had? Even we were sinners but you cant kill in the name of God. That is an aberration.’ Pope Francis. In that case, the Bible contains aberrations: There is a specific kind of warfare that is described in the Bible called ‘herem’ and which can only be equated with the word ‘genocide’ as it means total annihilation. And God said: ‘Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.’ 1 Samuel 15:3. KJV. When Saul failed to do that, God took away his kingdom. If ‘holy texts’ contain aberrations then why haven’t they been removed? They are used by fundamentalists to give credence to their stupid ideologies! If the ‘holy texts’ are indeed the ‘words of god’ then they of course they can’t be removed; and Pope Francis is talking nonsense when he declares that killing in the name of god is an aberration! But......, he is God’s representative on earth and he is therefore infallible; so his words must be those of God! Papal infallibility is a dogma of the Catholic Church that states that, in virtue of the promise of Jesus to Peter, the Pope is preserved from the possibility of error. Can you imagine a universe that was designed using ‘religious mathematics’? 1 + 1 sometimes equals 2 but can often mean whatever God or God’s prophets or earthly representatives want it to mean!
