Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy. Proverbs 11:10 Trying to hide a hurting heart does not work. We may think we are hiding the pains of our heart but the wounds eventually speak. When the wounds of our heart are left unattended they speak through our words and actions. If we have a wound that is not healed which many of us do we need to pay close attention to the way it speaks. Our heart is a place that needs attention and when we are wounded it begins to take root. This root finds nourishment in anger and bitterness. Being aware when this root begins to speak and act is finding emotional wisdom. We have all been in a conversation when we have heard a wound speak. Instead of reacting to the words it is wise to ask who has hurt this person. There are wounds in every workplace that speak and act daily. Even our own wounds speak and act and knowing what the wounds are is wise. Bringing our wounds to a place where they can receive healing is where we find joy. Finding a place to leave our wounds and have the roots uplifted is freedom. Jesus said He is a deliverer and we can find freedom in Him. Instead of allowing your wounds to continue to speak and act bring them to a place where they are healed. Allow yourself to come before the healer and expose your wounds to Him. Be honest with yourself about the places where your heart is hurting. The sooner we come before God with our pain the sooner the wounds stop speaking. Today in the Workplace Are there wounds in your life that need the healer’s attention? Share the truth about Jesus the healer next time someone’s wounds are trying to wound others or you.
