Each week I will be posting mini reviews and trivia of midcentury films at Victory Lamour. Here is the first one, with a strange piece of trivia: Grahame and her husband, the director of the film, broke up during filming and she was forced to sign a rather creepy contract stipulating that my husband [Ray] shall be entitled to direct, control, advise, instruct and command my actions during the hours from 9 AM to 6 PM, every day except Sunday...I acknowledge that in every conceivable situation his will and judgment shall be considered superior to mine and shall prevail.
