This weeks highlighted Food Artist, Expert photo bomber, the worlds one and only Burtoonist....and Sugar Daddy to us all.... Burton Farnsworth!!! Burton Farnsworth started his career as a graphic designer for an international marketing and communications firm. He later started his own business where, among many things, he designed product packaging for both the Star Trek and Star Wars movie and TV franchises. Eventually, Burton was exposed to some of the exciting things that were being done with cake, sugar, and chocolate. Encouraged by family and friends to explore this unfamiliar medium Burton started sculpting cakes. Fueled by his successes, as well as his failures, Burton educated himself in the techniques of cake and sugar art. Soon Burton was competing against experienced cake decorators from around the country. His work has appeared in the pages of American Cake Decorating Magazine, and he has also been featured on both Food Network Challenge and more recently Sugar Dome. Mr. Farnsworth now teaches his unique art form all over the country and is the owner of CakeFX in Fairfax, Virginia.
