Each year I continue to be deeply touched with the expressions of birthday wishes I receive through the platform of Facebook. With my birthday and Thanksgiving falling in the same month, it’s hard not to become overwhelmed by the many blessings in my life. The importance of family has been part of my very being as long as I can remember. Its no secret how passionate I am about my family. My wife and each of our children and their families are what sustain me. My love for each of them is beyond measure. Ive been blessed being a grandparent (a life experience that has no equal) ... and more are on the way come Spring!!! I am blessed in my everyday professional life with business associates, my Rotary Club, SPEC Committee and community, Roots n Blues team, that each inspire me and allow me to call them friends. Meaningful relationships have grown from each of these experiences and are ones I will always treasure. My spirit is blessed by a church community that spans over my lifetime, loving and accepting me without condition. Finally, and by my own (perhaps sappy) tradition, I share this quote from Wicked that I think best expresses my feelings... Ive heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason bringing something we must learn and we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them, and we help them in return. I know Im who I am today because I knew you. I do believe Ive been changed for the better. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good!” Thank you all for being such an important part of my life and making growing a year older an exercise in Thanksgiving.
