Eagerly awaiting with everyone the birth of the new hymnal for the Independence, Missouri-internationally based Community of Christ (RLDS) denomination - a five year-plus project of huge proportions. It is bitter-sweet to me and perhaps the rest of the team of persons Twila and I trained and worked with while engraving HYMNS OF THE SAINTS 1981. Nevertheless, we always knew this day would come. As church musicians - all of us - Edward G. Mason, Twila Rose Hidy Rider, William (Ted) Stewart, and the late Doris N. Criss, we remain forever grateful for the opportunity we were allowed to share in the birth of Hymns of the Saints. We are also thankful for the continuing age of The Hymn Explosion which began in 1975, when more new hymns have come forth than all that existed up to that time - creative works of music and text which Children of God all around the Earth have shaped into songs of everlasting praise to the honor and glory of GOD Almighty: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ~ Soli Deo Gloria ~
