Eagle Daily Word. Wed, 7th Jan 2015 OUR CONDUCT Text : That you put off,concerning your former conduct,the old man which grows corrupt according to the decietful lust. 23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. 24.and that you put on a new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness. Amen Eph 4:22-24 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Amen Eph 5:1 Every society, organization and even our homes has a way the people live and behave. There is an expectation of how everyone ones you belong to that club, organization or live in that home should live and behave. It is that which distingishes one company from another or one home from another. Our Christian faith is also is seen in that light where our head is Christ. And like every institution there is a pattern of life which must be seen in all the members. Ones you are a christian Christ is your head and Christ also expects us to live and behave in line with his word. In Ephesians 4: 22 we are told to do away of our old man and the conduct or pattern of living we ones lived before we became saved. The word of God in Eph 4 explains to us that, the conduct of the old man was as result of the desires of the flesh and the rotteness of the mind which is carnal. Meaning before we became saved there were certain behaviour and character seen in us like lying, bitterness, fornication, evil speaking, wrath etc etc. All these were part of our oldman and now that we are in Christ we are admonised to renew our minds in the spirit of our minds and this can happen only through Gods word. This is seen in Romans 12: 2 which says And do not conform to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove that which is acceptable and perfect will of God. And we can only change our minds to affect our behaviour to suit Christ own way of life by meditating and practicing the word of God. The word of God is meant to be meditated upon and lived. Its what conforms our lifestyle to that of Christ. And when you do his then it means we have put on the new man which God himself has formed in us through salvation which is in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore Eph 5: 1 becomes the basis of us changing our minds and living according to Gods word which is our conduct for living the Christian life. Ephsians 5: 1 states that Therefore be imitators of God as dear children . The only way we will see the need to put off the old man and its ways and to conform to the new man and put him on as we are admonished to is to see ourselves as dear children of God and therefore to imitate Him and see ourselves as a copy of Him or see ourselves as we are to look and behave like Christ. Have a glorious day filled with living the life Christ expects of us because we are born anew to exhibit that conduct because its already in us.
