Eaglet’ s semi -final victory; We don ’ t applaud our endowments until a sign of victory deencept.wordpress It has become a norm for we Nigerians to look down on upcoming talented individuals as if they have no future or their talents can never bring them success. It is when there is the feasibility that victory will come in the end, that we will now start moving closer to them not even to support them but just to see if they will succeed or not. The assertion above can be linked to the on going under-17 world cup, at first, majority of Nigerians(most especially the government) sat back and relaxed to see if the eaglets can make it to the final. As soon as they moved closer to the quarter final we became alert and started giving them encouragement. Forgeting the fact that it was rough in the beginning but if not for the faith in God, the believe they had in themselves and their hardwork they wouldnt have gotten propelled to the final match. Developed and developing Countries across the universe give every support to talented individuals right from their talent discovery date till it becomes productive but the reverse is the case for the giant of african countries, Nigeria. There are talented minds out there struggling to put their talents into practice and make them productive but it is quite unfortunate that the environment kills their talents. Talking about soccer, there are skillful upcoming Nigerian players who can be as good as lionel messi, c.ronaldo and the likes or even beat those soccer stars achievements but there is inadequate encouragement, monetary support, incentive and so on, from the expected quarters and authorities in the country . All am clamouring for in this write up is that Nigerians(the football lovers and non-football lovers) and the government need to be charged to search, support and develop talented, creative and skillful individuals. This will reduce waste of talents in our society while it will also result in an increase in industrial productivity which will eventually create employment opportunities and boost the nations economy beyond our imagination. Therefore non-formal education need to be encouraged and well funded in order to discover the hidden Nigerian talents. I will also use this medium to wish the Nigerian eaglet victory in the fortcoming final match with mexico. My advice is that youve began as an under-17 champions dont relax when you start making cool money just like the eagles were. I so much believe that government soon will realise why they need to support Nigerians who are talented, right from scratch till they become an asset that is productive. LONG LIVE EAGLETS, deencept.wordpress LONG LIVE NIGERIA!!!
