Earlier, I asked for advice about what to do when the pharmacy - TopicsExpress

Earlier, I asked for advice about what to do when the pharmacy gave me someone elses prescription. A LiveChat agent took all of the relevant info from me and told me someone from the pharmacy would contact me to find out more. The pharmacy called back only a couple of hours later, and Tom took the call for me. They apologized for the mistake, verified that the other patient whose prescription I had had not picked up *my* prescription. They removed and destroyed the prescription label with my information on it and relabeled it for him. I would assume they will be informing him about what happened. It seems that it was a new employee who had dispensed the wrong persons Rx to me, and they said they will be giving her further training to ensure this never happens again. The damage already being done on my end, they said to just keep what I have. Its the exact same medication (generic Nulytely) and dosage I need, and they cant have me unsee the other patients info. If I returned it, theyd have to dispose of it, and thats a waste. Im still going to report it through a medication error reporting site to make sure this isnt kept in-house. It was an error of only minor consequence in my case, but it could have been far worse had the wrong medication had been given to the wrong person and the error had not been caught before the meds were ingested.
