Earlier in the year, when we published the results of our short breaks survey we decided that we would like to carry out some additional research into the problems with accessing short breaks for those with physically disabled children. We have now devised a further questionnaire looking specifically at the needs of these children and would be grateful if you could take the time to complete it if you are the parent or carer of a child with a physical disability. To complete the survey please go to surveymonkey/s/REACHPDSurvey. It should not take much of your time. The closing date for completing the survey is 15 September. In addition, there will be a chance to discuss the issues surrounding short breaks for physically disabled children at the coffee morning on 10 September. It is hoped that this informal discussion time will also give us valuable information about short breaks and activities within Wokingham. We are aware that Wokingham have very recently commissioned two new organisations to provide short breaks over the summer: Kids and Disability Challengers. These are not included in our survey but it would be great to have some feedback about the success of these schemes and the coffee morning would be the ideal opportunity to hear some of these views.
