Earlier post, update coming...... Although I am on personal leave for two weeks from today with a family illness and insurance matters, I got a call from an elderly woman who has been in hospital more than once for health issues related to her damaged home. I went round there. She has no toilet, no stove, the microwave is broken, (she pours hot water over vegetables to eat), she has no family here, her log burner leaks from the roof and is rusted, she has no heating. It gets down to -6 in her little broken house as all the metal windows are bowed and do not seal properly. Her shower is an incomplete repair from March 2010 (yes 2010!) and the house is damp and musty. How does this fall through the cracks. We hugged, she cried, I tried hard not to and for once it worked. I am now liaising with the insurance company and EQR to get this urgent things sorted. Bloody disgraceful.
