Earlier this evening, I had the opportunity to share on the ChickinBoots page just how much we have enjoyed having a pair of Silkies in our flock. Now I thought that I would share that with you. Meet Cleopatra and Blackcap. They are both Silkies and have wonderful personalities. Theyre lighthearted and sweet with the other members of the flock and with us. We love watching them and they lay beautiful eggs all winter long. My only regret is that it took me a few years to listen to my daughter who had begged me for a few Silkie chicks each spring. I mistakenly thought that they would be delicate little birds that wouldnt survive our long New England winters. I also didnt realize that they would be such dependable layers. Do you keep Silkies in your flock?
