Earlier this month, BTVFC received a deuce and a half that has been converted from military service to be used as a wild land firefighting apparatus. The truck officially belongs to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR) and was previous on loan to the Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport. After they no longer had a use for the truck and ran out of room in their station to house it, the truck found a new home at Station 17. The deuce has a 600 gallon water tank, a 300 gallon per minute pump, various hoses and wild land firefighting hand tools, and seating for a full crew. Once we get it painted and lettered in a BTVFC paint scheme, and make a few modifications to make it our own, we will put the truck to good use on wild land calls, as well as flooding calls in the Township and the surrounding areas. BTVFC would like to extend a big thanks to the Pennsylvania DCNR and to the Diamond Fire Company for helping to make this all happen!
