Earlier this month I had planned ahead and told my bosses Id work New Years Eve since I had begged to get New Years Day off so I could spend time with my family and watch the College Football Bowl Games, since all of our favorite teams are playing. (OSU, MSU, FSU) Well last night I didnt plan on closing the bar..I was suppose to be cooking but my mom got sick and had to go to the hospital..and so she wasnt able to come in and long story short we got our butts kicked cause it was an amazing turn out, I cooked during the tough hours then went out to bartend when it started to slow down but we were still one person short so I ended up closing the bar so our other bartender didnt have to close two nights in a row, since I have New Years Day off. Well I ended up closing and punching the time clock at 2:00am cause I kept it open for all our drinkers who were celebrating. I ended up with $125 in tips due to our final few customers who were overly generous. All I can say is thank you and Ive never made that much or even close to that in tips in my life.
