Earlier this month in The New York Times, a geneticist called for ALL Jewish women to be tested by age 30 for the BRCA gene mutation which prompts risk of breast & ovarian cancer. One option for those diagnosed is to have those reproductive organs removed. That is not a good idea: most Jewish women arent married at 30, and removal of a womans ovaries and breasts could be devastating.
