Earlier this week Anita Collins was awarded the The Music Trust prize by the Professional Teachers’ Council of New South Wales. Anita who is from the ANU was the person behind new music and the brain research. Anita was also the creator of perhaps the single best piece of music education advocacy made to date, an animation demonstrating how playing an instrument benefits your brain. At last we had an accessible summary of the benefits of making music....and the world through Youtube (2.3 million views) social media loved it.
