Earlier this week I posted the following link to a well-articulated, students letter that was posted on BuzzFeed. I have received the following update from the author herself. It is not surprising. Hello Cynical Pharmacist! My name is Katie Buhlinger, and I would like to introduce myself as the author of a Buzz Feed letter you posted earlier this week titled, Pharmacy: A Student Pharmacists Open Letter to a Confused Radio Station. Thank you so much for sharing this article and allowing more support and discussion to spread about the topic. I figured an update was necessary, and thought Id like to share it with you in case you wanted to update your audience. The radio station, Carolinas New Country B93.9 Raleigh/Durham, did not respond to my letter, but made an announcement on air regarding the Buzz Feed tonight. After reading the introduction of the Buzz Feed, they went on to completely disregard the contents of the letter and the purpose of spreading the truth about what pharmacy is. Instead they made fun of the desire to receive an apology. The announcer also claimed that every pharmacist theyve encountered has been nasty. I know your followers are equally as passionate about advancing our profession and stopping this negativity as I am. Please feel free to share with your readers if you think it could be helpful! Perhaps you get bad customer service because you are a bad customer? If the shoe fits… As the author had intended, I am simply providing my audience with an update. Be diplomatic, but do not prove his point...
