Earlier this week, my friend Ryan Holiday released his new book, ๐ป๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ ๐ป๐๐ ๐พ๐๐, which I have truly enjoyed. Its been all over the internetz lately, so Ill just give you a very brief overview. Rather than being strictly a business book, as were Ryans previous works, its a book on philosophy. Specifically, its a book that discusses Stoic philosophy, and its practical application to life. It will help with business. But it will also help with relationships. With your ability to work. With your general interaction with the world. Tim Ferriss has said he thinks stoicism is the perfect personal operating system for our high stress world. (While he was talking about entrepreneurs in that specific context, he would agree that being a teacher, a lawyer, or a parent is no less stressful.) In ๐ป๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ ๐ป๐๐ ๐พ๐๐, first explains stoicism and its benefits (with a bit about its history). He then goes on to outlay exactly how you can use stoicism to improve every aspect of your life. He also gives examples of great figures from history, and how they embraced stoicism. One such figure is Arnold Schwarzenegger. While not mentioned in the book, Ryan actually just published a post about Arnold and his overall stoicism.
