Earlier this year, Coleman Parkes Research conducted a survey (commissioned by Ricoh) amongst members of Europe’s business workforce from industries such as financial services, healthcare, education and the public sector. An overwhelming 80 per cent of those surveyed believe that by 2036 their workplaces will have been transformed by technology and processes that do not even exist today.1 Within the next decade alone, more than half of survey respondents expect the following technologies will be readily available within the workplace: Touch-based interactive devices (69 per cent) The ability to perform all tasks by voice recognition (60 per cent) Augmented-reality glasses (56 per cent) Interactive whiteboards are already present in many classrooms and, with the increasing usage of mobile devices by students, the next five years will see real-time, digitally-enabled educational experiences becoming the norm.
