Earlier this year, I spoke with my friend Aniela Tuchband who had recently lost her mother to cancer and had found out she carried the BRCA1 gene which gave her an 80% chance for Breast Cancer. She had decided to have a pre-cancer Mastectomy which would drastically lower her chances of acquiring cancer in the future. She picked the date and decided this is what she wanted to do. About a month before her desired surgery date she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer found because of her regular preventive mammograms and ultra sounds. I explain all this to say, please share this to any woman you know. Make sure we are all being diligent in our breast health and making sure to catch something before its too late. I am deeply heartbroken my friend has to endure this, but out of most everyone I know, she is the most brave and enduring. She WILL overcome this and she WILL be a voice for this cause that will inspire people with her story. I love you Aniela.
