Earlier this year, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued - TopicsExpress

Earlier this year, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued L’Oreal for deceptive advertising practices due to L’Oreal’s Youth Code and sub-brand Lancôme’s Génifique—both product lines which touted the ability to “crack the genetic code” for younger skin. Of course, as cosmetics can’t change or alter your genes! :) However, L’Oreal’s recently reached settlement with the FTC doesn’t require them to pay a penny in fines (Génifique prices range upwards of $130, and Youth Code products up to $25). Visit the Truth in Advertising story below for more info—you’ll also have the opportunity to let the FTC know how you feel about this settlement. Of course, we’d love to know what you think, too!
