Earlier today, I released the following statement regarding the Presidents immigration reform announcement last night: “The ideal way to deal with an issue as complex and fraught with emotion as immigration reform is through the legislative process. Unfortunately, the Republican leadership of the House has refused to even consider the good, bipartisan comprehensive reform compromise that the Senate passed in June of 2013. To repeat what the President said last night, if the Republican leadership of the House doesn’t like what he is proposing then they have a solution that has been presented to them and that they have ignored for 18 months; bring the bill up for consideration and it will pass.”
