Earlier today I welcomed the Minister for Employment, Esther - TopicsExpress

Earlier today I welcomed the Minister for Employment, Esther McVey, to Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, and took her to visit the Brighton Swimming Centre, headquarters of SWIM UK. I was proud to show her the fantastic work that Swim UK does, providing training and apprenticeship opportunities to many young people, and to hear their incredible success stories! The pool was very busy, but fortunately we were able to meet with some of the students currently taking the life guarding course, and also to talk with the staff at Swim UK, who nearly all secured their jobs there after taking training courses at the Swimming Centre. Following the visit with Swim UK, Esther had the opportunity to meet with Whats Happening Magazine, a great Brighton-based magazine offering placements to young people wanting to get experience in the field of journalism. This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of Brightons best, most successful training centres, both of which are training people and giving them the skills they need to go on to have successful careers.
