Earlier today, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust appeared before the HS2 Select Committee, in doing so becoming one of the first wildlife and environmental organisations to put forward our arguments. We argued in Staffordshire: - There are a number of important species present which hasnt been assessed. - We have not seen any strategy or data feeding into an ecological design. - We feel the restoration of wildlife sites should be part of the mitigation package. - There was no information about how wildlife habitats would be managed and maintained, questioning their viability. - We share the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committees concerns about a lack of monitoring for HS2 biodiversity aims. - Deer are mentioned in methodology but not in environmental assessment. We will continue to stand up for wildlife against HS2. But we need your help. Please help us by donating to our HS2 appeal: ow.ly/D9m9Z
