Earlier today, the Washington Post picked up on a controversial marketing plan by a local yoga studio that offered a discount on yoga classes while commemorating 9/11. Many people objected to the idea, deeming it insensitive. The owners of the studio have since issued an apology. We think this is a good reminder to yoga professionals to thoroughly consider the message and impact of your marketing when deciding how to promote your business, especially on a national day of remembrance and service.
