Early Sunday Training..... Before sunrise 60 members of RRSAR deployed 8 miles up Kyle Canyon Rd to conduct a training search. The mission was A missing person.... by the time it was done 4 people were located in 4 different locations and three required medical aid and stokes litter carry outs. A vehicle was found first, and tracks identified. The tracks we followed for three quarters of a mile where a tent was located with an unconscious male subject. Medical aid was provided and the subject was air lifted to UMC. More tracks were discovered and a second subject was found that was intoxicated and had a broken ankle. He too was treated and Airlifted to UMC. We then discover there were two more victims and each were tracked down and extracted. The first teams were in the field by 0630 and all four victims were found by 0930. The teams return to the command post for after the search medical evaluations, mission debriefing and then headed home by 1100 hrs. Its safe to say we take our training seriously and try to create real life conditions for our members to learn from.... This Friday we will deploy up towards Mt Charleston on a three day mission to find the missing loved one for a local family. We will keep you updated as the mission takes place...
