Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 7: The National Conference led coalition Government seems determined to go to Alps for wooing the voters to make an impact in the forthcoming Assembly elections. It has been reliably learnt that the Government is planning to fill thousands of vacancies in School Education and Higher Education departments in the coming months, before the code of conduct comes into force. The Government has issued directions to the recruiting agencies to speed up the recruitment process. Official sources confirm that thousands of vacancies have been lying vacant in both the above mentioned departments. According to them, 20,000 posts are available in the School Education department. They added that most of the higher secondary schools were without principals. The higher secondary schools are also short of more than 300 lecturers, they said adding ZEOs and principals are holding additional charges. The Higher Education department has also a sad story to tell. The PSC has already invited applications to fill around one thousand posts of professors to teach around 40 subjects. Financial experts, however, have opposed the move. According to them, the Government must first look into the financial implications of the decision.
