Early in 2013 we picked up 2 cast iron mantels I scored on Louisvilles Craigslist. Except for keystone (center support corbel) they were exactly like MMs other 6 original mantels. Instead of having them painted, we chose powdercoating because its more durable & heat-resistant. Unfortunately, the contractor had enough work from Toyota & local farmers & never followed up with quotes on some of our other projects. :-( Thats why I was thrilled to find MILLS Custom Powder Coatings FB page a few weeks ago. So while we wish them lots of other business, we hope theyll still have time for an occasional MM project---ranging from small (exterior light fixtures) to larger (cast iron porch railing). :-)
