Early this morning I created a petition where Im hoping a lot of architecture students feel the same as me where these 11-week trimesters here at Deakin University just arent long enough to produce high quality studio projects. Talking to other students about this, it isnt just about quality of work but our health, both physical and mental, along with us paying the same amount for these subjects when they use to be a 12-13 week semester. I understand this is Architecture Australia, and this fight is concentrated at Deakin University, however I ask for your support. Put yourself in our shoes! MasterClass students only get 11 weeks to produce their final design of their university life, some students are even doing Thesis and MasterClass in the same short trimester! I want those of you around Australia to think, what would you do if your university decided to reduce the number of weeks per semester, but dont adjust subjects to accommodate this, and dont change the price structure. Would you want nation-wide support?
