East Cobb Academy defeats Georgia Gamers after late game single, 9-4 East Cobb Academy and Georgia Gamers traded the lead five times on Saturday, but East Cobb Academy ended up on top with a 9-4 win in seven innings over Georgia Gamers. East Cobb Academy took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. East Cobb Academy went up for good on an RBI single by Garrett Voyles off #4, scoring Michael Sawyer. East Cobb Academy was led by Sebastian ONeills hitting. Sebastian went 4-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings. Addison Reed pitched lights out for East Cobb Academy. Addison held Georgia Gamers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three. Four relief pitchers finished off the game for East Cobb Academy. Garrett faced eight batters in relief, while Zach Brown managed to record three outs to aid the victory. The top of the third saw Georgia Gamers take an early lead, 1-0. A single by #20, plating #22 started the inning off. After a quick strike from Georgia Gamers, East Cobb Academy responded with one run in the third. East Cobb Academy scored on a groundout by Wes Neadow. East Cobb Academy went up for the duration of the game after the fourth inning. Additional runs came from an RBI single by Michael. East Cobb Academy piled on five more runs in the bottom of the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Zach Randolph doubled, scoring Matthew Broadhead. That was followed up by Michaels double, bringing home Zach Randolph and Caleb Norman. Georgia Gamers scored two runs in the top of the sixth to cut its deficit to four.
