East Lothian Planning Committee is meeting at 10am in the Council - TopicsExpress

East Lothian Planning Committee is meeting at 10am in the Council Chambers, Haddington to discuss and decide on the Planning Permission for the Inch Cape sub-station. The scheme involves two very large buildings (46m long and 30m long) within a substantial fenced and bunded compound directly on the undeveloped ground to the south side of the old coal plant. This site is at the centre of the ground over which the Battle of Prestonpans was fought in 1745 and is likely to include the area identified as the location of the mass grave pits. The Battle Trust and CRA are going to go along and Gareth will probably address the Committee, highlighting the Communities widespread objection to the scheme. If you are interested to hear first hand what ELC Planners and Councillors on the Planning Committee have to say about this then you are welcome to attend, as it is an open meeting with a public gallery. It would be good if we could get a few people to come along, if only to make the point that this is not something we want to see allowed to happen.
