EastEnders spoiler pictures: Max Branning and Emma hit the rocks DC Emma Summerhayes will sacrifice her relationship with Max Branning in EastEnders next week in a desperate bid to protect her job. Viewers know that Emma (Anna Acton) has been having a fling with Max (Jake Wood) for the last few months, despite the fact that she is one of the detectives involved in Lucy Beales murder investigation. Next week Max decides to make amends for his past actions and apologises to Ian (Adam Woodyatt) for sleeping with Lucy prior to her death.Later, Max runs into Emma and her colleague Keeble and it soon becomes apparent that Keeble and Max know each other, leaving Emma concerned. Terrified of losing her job, Emma tells a devastated Max that they cant be together until Lucys case has been resolved, but how will he take this news?EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday, October 10 at 8pm on BBC One.
